The internet and the everyday desk tools in tabs beside the accounts, so the office needs one program open all day.

Web Browser

  • The internet in a tab of its own: several pages at once, Back, Forward, Home and an address bar that searches too.
  • Favourite pages for everyone and each user's own, on a favourites bar; downloads saved to the user's own folder; print or save any page as PDF.
  • Each user stays logged in to their own web sites; the administrator can switch the browser off for a role, or allow only chosen sites.
  • With no connection, a clear "System Offline" page that tries again by itself and lists your favourites.

Calculator

  • A desk calculator with a tape beside it, like an adding machine's paper roll: every figure entered, with the totals in bold.
  • A note against any line of the tape (the supplier, the invoice number), then print the tape or save it to Excel.
  • Mouse or keyboard, percentages, a memory, and two decimal places for money; Copy puts the answer straight into any amount field.
  • Worked to 15 significant figures, so 0.1 + 0.2 is 0.3, not a near miss.

Currency Converter

  • Any amount between about 30 currencies at the European Central Bank's reference rates, today's or any past date's.
  • The amount in every currency at once, with the rate both ways; click one to convert to it.
  • No connection? It uses the rates your company already keeps, and says so.

Loan Calculator

  • Repayment loans, interest-only loans and hire purchase at a flat rate, with a deposit and a final lump sum.
  • The regular payment, total interest, total to pay and the APR, worked out as you type.
  • The full schedule, payment by payment, with dates, interest, capital and the balance left, printed or saved to Excel.

The Calendar and the Staff Rota are part of the Intranet, with Messaging.
